Hi Laura,
I am so happy to hear that you have stayed sober. Giving tokens is so rewarding. My sobriety date is 1-1-89 and I just celebrated 21 years clean and sober. I have sponsored so many girl and women and I love watching the light come on in their eyes when they finally get it and grow. It is truely my favorite gift from my higher power.

Being a sober parent is challenging as well. My daughter is 11 and in the preteen stage of life. Some days I think to myself now I understand why normal parents drink, but I am truely grateful that I do not need to anymore. I did not even find the need to drink when my son died at 16 years of sobriety and beleive me I wanted to. I was angry at God for a while and lost and confused. Your words of just breathe reminded me of that rough time in my life. It was working the steps with the girls I sponsor and watching people take cakes that renewed my hope in life and repaired my relationship with God after my son died. I will always remain grateful.

Next weekend if you are looking for a sober good time down at the Town and Country hotel there will be an ACYPAA conference with dances, huge meetings, marathon meetings, panels and all sorts of things. Grab some girlfriends and check it out. Trust that your higher power has something awesome lined up for your life and remember sometimes one minute at a time we breathe together to stay sober.

Much Love,
Kimber P alcoholic

Oh Laura, you crack me up. I love how you can go from the honor of giving a one year chip to the boob-flex from AI. Such a wild ride! I miss you guys so much.
