Holy Shny-kees! I met Quincy Jones!

Hi Ya Kids,

So check this out. Sunday night, Pam and I went to “Sammy” at the Old Globe. It’s a new musical about the life of Sammy Davis Jr. It was a special night because a bunch of Hollywood-types came down for the opening. There was a dinner before the show. (The only way I got in was – Pam is on the Board of Directors of the Globe). Sitting at our table right next to Pam was Marion Ross, “Mrs. Cunningham, (”Mrs. C.”) of Happy Days! She’d been in our studio on the show before so we kinda knew each other. She was charming and funny and delightful. And at the next table were Frank Sinatra’s daughters. Tina and Nancy, so already I’m wetting my pants, and Quincy Jones!!! I really didn’t want to bother him, but I thought, “Look – it’s Quincy Jones and I’m never gonna be in the same room with him again in my life, so I should go for it”. In truth, Pam did. She went to his table, introduced herself and charmed him (who can resist a stunningly hot woman?) and a few minutes later I sheepishly followed. I said, “Quincy, I just want to know that in my lifetime, I shook your hand”. He was SO nice! He held my hand for a while and made me laugh about something – I don’t remember, I was so flustered, and WOW! I met Quincy Jones!!! Sorry I have no pictures to show you, but I just didn’t think it was proper to ask him for a photo - although he was so nice, I’m sure he would have happily obliged us. I’m a wuss.

By the way, “Sammy” is at the Globe for the month of October. It was just great! You should go. It’s most likely going to Broadway. Catch it here before it goes. Just fabulous!

See you tonight at 6:30!

Did I mention I met Quincy Jones? WHOA!

Love,
Jerry
